Oppression

The article is about a judge putting a temporary hold on President Trump transgender military ban. Since, the ban is on hold the military can not deny you entry into the military. It also means that they can not kick out for for being transgender. For those that are in before this they can not with hold promotions if you are available for them.  How does this support oppression in the military? It does not allow everyone to be who and all they can be while in the service. Most people have no problem with it as long as the person who is transgender can do all the physical standards that their  coworkers are able to do. Without lowering the standards, since in the military everyone is supposed to be equal. If the policy is allowed people who have not met the qualifications would get a promotion or a better job on a team or deployment. Rather than having the transgender person who has met the qualifications and the experiences getting passed over for the promotion or other leadership opportunities.Where right now those who are transgender may be alienated but if those goes into effect they will be more alienated and looked down upon than they are at the moment.  So if the ban goes into effect this is a example of a few problems of oppression that would happen.

  1. You brought up some good points on some things that could happen if President Trump's ban on transgenders in the military happens.

  2. I find this very interesting as well. I did my blog on the transgender military policy. It is just interesting to see the difference between this policy and the one I looked up. Meaning the one I looked up I think was trying to make it equal for transgenders in the military- just like everyone else, but that's my personal opinion. I agree though, that if this ban went through there would be problems with the transgenders facing oppression.

  3. I never heard about this until you brought it up on this blog. It's something that needs to be discussed and noticed by everyone because it effects everyone. Shouldn't we just be thankful that any human being of any gender, sex, age, color etc would give up their life to save the lives of people they don't even know? Even to protect Donald Trump? He should be grateful rather than doubtful that a transgender human being can do just as good as any other soldier in the military.

  4. You raise an important issue regarding military service, and who is allowed to serve, and in what capacity. Why, do you think, are some opposed to transgender people serving in the military?
